Overview

I started my undergraduate degree in psychology but switched to Nursing after working with Emergency Technicians who introduced me to healthcare, which seemed more exciting. Norwich nursing was a brand-new program, which allowed students to help shape the education for future nurses. We developed a respectable program and I realized there was a great need for nurses all over the world, and especially here in Vermont. I worked through nursing school as a supervisor at an assisted living doing night shift and knew the fit was right.

As one of nine children, and my mom ran a daycare, I was always around kids. This drove my interest in pediatrics and Maternal-Child Health at Franklin County Home Health, after graduation. My team provided home visits from prenatal until kids turn two. I was drawn to teaching moms prenatally, postpartum, and up through toddlerhood. It is a joy to help moms and babies develop that early bond through breast feeding as well. But I want to retire from primary care, where I can put my nursing skills to use helping all ages, from birth through end of life.

At Cold Hollow Family Practice, I get to spend my day making a difference in people’s lives. I enjoy preventing everything from disease to hospitalization every day, in many ways.

Here, everyone is treated like family, and everyone treats patients the same way.
